The recorder is a woodwind musical instrument and can be distinguished from other flutes because it has a thumb hole underneath and seven finger holes on top. It was originally made of wood, but today they're made of resin and are moderately priced. A recorder is ideal for young learners as it is an introduction to the world of music. It helps develop social skills, while inspiring creativity and stimulating the senses.
